Beautiful Local Gift Shops:
Fiddlesticks
With a degree in fashion design and experience in New York, Michele bought Fiddlesticks gift shop a few years ago and has been overseeing fresh and seasonal offerings ever since. She is very approachable and loves to meet people in her store. I especially love the laid back beachy feel and natural textures of this season’s displays and the the relaxed hint of Boho style in the clothing line.
Fiddlesticks is a long standing fixture in Yakima with an eclectic mixture of home fashion, jewelry, and kitchen items. The ladies fashion section is a mixture of casual and relaxed wear, shoes, as well as the famous Coobie bra line of undergarments.
Currently, the baby section is being expanded and remodeled. Whether you are looking for a gift or for your home, Fiddlesticks is a great stop. While you are there, you can hop over to Farmgirl Pickings for an additional treat of options in the same parking lot.
You can find out more about Fiddlesticks on their website and on Facebook. They are located at 1601 Summitview Ave.

Farmgirl Pickings
Farmgirl Pickings is a beautiful farm style mix of vintage, new home decor, and gifts. You will also find baby and wedding gifts as well as kitchen items. Their clothing selection has a distinctly farm and country girl vibe with a relaxed comfortable look.
You will find inspirational gifts and cards along with journals and uplifting books. A line of paint is available for furniture projects as well as a line of large stamps. If your looking to try the OnGuard essential oil blend and cleaners, Farmgirl Pickings is the place to go.
Cindy began Farmgirl Pickings 2 years ago as a natural growth from antique vending and orchestrating the annual farm sale. She loves to meet new people and help them find what they are looking for. Need a teacher or appreciation gift? They’ve got you covered!
Farmgirl Pickings offers workshops in the shop for various crafting projects and furniture painting. Highly popular workshops in the past included succulent centerpieces, wreathes, garlands, signs, and bouquets. Currently, they are offering burned cowboy hat workshops.

Vintage Me
Vintage Me is a beautiful eclectic store that is as much a soothing visit to look through as it is to shop. Michelle, the store owner, has a unique ability to put people at ease and has a knack for cultivating customer loyalty. Her shop is a mixture of new and old country, shabby chic, French, vintage home and kitchen fashion, clothing, jewelry, and unique baby items. This year’s focus is all about the comfy clothing.
A unique feature of Vintage Me is the Joy Box, hand picked and curated by Michelle for each subscription customer. Each box is a collection of 5-6 seasonal themed items that always includes one item with a bird motif to go with the store logo and brand. The joy comes from a mystery box that is mailed directly to a customer. Subscriptions are monthly and can be cancelled at any time. Inquiries for the Joy Box can be made via the Vintage Me Facebook page.
Located in the historic Yakima bus depot from the WW II era, you can still see one of the original brickwork arches from that era. The store itself is a very nice mixture of new and old brickwork, beam, and plaster.
Future plans for the store include expanding into farmtable style furniture pieces as well as expanding the baby section and clothing. The possibility of offering summer workshops focusing on painting furniture are part of the goals and ideas of future expansion.
Towards the back of the store is Lulu’s Lunchbox run by her daughter. Come on in for a quiet coffee, lunch, or take-out in a quaint atmosphere. Upstairs is a large tea room that can seat 16-20 comfortably and is decorated and designed for tea parties. In the current situation, the tea room is closed but will hopefully be able to re-open in the near future.
You can find out more about Vintage Me on Facebook. Location: 106 S. 3rd. St. Yakima, WA 98901. Current hours: Mon-Fri 10-5pm, Sat. 10-2pm, Sunday- closed.
Lulu’s Lunchbox can be found on Facebook. Current hours: M-F 10-2pm.
English Country Market
Tucked in the Chalet Mall, English Country Market is a taste of England here in the US. From teas and kitchen/baking items, soaps, baby and children’s apparel and toys. I absolutely love browsing in this shop. The shop carries very carefully curated items such as Jellycat, Kyte Baby, Tea Collection, Mason Cash, Paperproducts Design, Archipelago Botanicals, Pre de Provence, and Harney and Sons Tea.
While in shut down during the pandemic, they went out of their way to give live zoom tours in the shop and use Instagram and website englishcountrymarket.com shopping to help their customers. Even personally delivering items to help during that rough closure time. They are now open regular hours, Tuesday through Saturday at Chalet Place, 56th and Summitvie, or shop at home, englishcountrymarket.com
The English Country Market carries a wide variety of adorable baby items from onesies to cute animals. Carrying an extensive rang of baby and children’s apparel and toys, this is a fun place to shop for a new baby or find the perfect dress for a little girl.
If you are a British fan and need your tea, take a look at their wonderful tea selection.
I am picturing the countryside and some Beatrix Potter!
English Country Market is ideally located to make a refreshing afternoon of it. Take a tour through this beautiful shop, have a coffee next door, and step over to peruse the latest books at Inklings book shop. During the summer, Ohana Shaved Ice is in the courtyard just outside the shop and you can relax with your cool summer treat and stroll through various pop-up artisan outdoor shows.
You can check out English Country Market online or on Facebook. Jennifer and Ashley are very welcoming and available to help you find what you need. Current business hours are: Tuesday-Friday 10:30 -5:30pm, Saturday 10-430pm Private shopping appointments also available. Location: 5615 Summitview Avenue, Yakima WA.
Somehow I missed this earlier. I love the first three stores you have listed and haven’t been to the English Country Market. I will have to check it out next time I am in the area!
